In preparation for his role in Tootsie, Dustin Hoffman did a make-up test to see if he could be made to look like a convincing woman and was shocked when to discover that he wasn't a particularly attractive woman.  It was at that moment that he had an epiphany.  Watch the powerful interview where he describes his insight.
